A prepost, as I work today and the family party for my son's birthdays is tomorrow.
I haven't tried a lot of new things of late; too much work and not enough time! I attempted the "Ham and Sage Frittata" from "The Silver Spoon" last Monday when I was off, but with 6 eggs in a 12" skillet, it ended up being an omelette.
I've tried grilling aspargus twice now; the first time it was just tossed in olive oil with salt, and OK but not great. The 2nd time I used the Italian Marinade I put up on the first Recipe Saturday and I loved it. My wife still likes canned asparagus better, but said this was OK.
Refresher:
Italian Marinade
1/4 cup lemon juice (or orange juice, though I've never tried it)
1/2 cup of olive oil
1 envelope of "Good Seasons" Italian Salad Dressing mix
3 Tbsp. of Vodka (optional, have never tried it)
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

The marinade sounds good. I love asparagas. I usually cook it in a microwave steamer for about three minutes. I use the steamer for all fresh veggies. Occasionally I grill them too and they are yummy that way as well.
Hope the party is a blast and that you all have a great time!

We don't have Good Seasons in Canada..Whenever I'm in the States I load up on the boxes..It's the best!
Found you over at SWLF.
Okay. You must get a frittata pan (however that's spelled). I just added one to my wishlist, in hopes that my hubs would see it. :)
Mmmmmmm. Grilled asparagus. With marinade? Even better!
I blanch my asparagus first and then marinate and throw it on the grill. See if this makes a difference next time you grill. Hope you have a wonderful day with your family.

Asparagus soaked in soy sauce and then grilled is fantastic!
Do you get the "Soy Vey" soy sauces mixes in your markets? The really good one for asparagus is pineapple and seasame.
Sounds yummy!
my friend showed me a very simple and super yummy way to make asparagus:
sautee in real butter with sliced garlic for a few minutes, until slightly soft and garlic chips are crispy
then dip in a mixture of mayonnaise a a teaspoon of soy sauce, no kidding, I get raves when I make it for friends and it's so simple!
love asparagus. anytime, any way. and i'll try the marinade for sure.
i love asparagus sounds like a *yum* marinade :)
Greatest cookbooks ever - The Schwarzbein Principle Cookbook and the Vegetarian Cookbook. They aren't expensive and every recipe I've used from the books has been awesome.
She also makes great salad dressings and marinades and stuff.
