Too good to pass up!

There comes a point in your life when you realize

Who matters,

Who never did,

Who won't anymore ...

And who always will.

So don't worry about people from your past,

There is a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Borrowed from the blog of a friend...

A lesson that could have saved me much anguish in my 53 years, though it will still save me from even more!

Thank you, Liz!

Far too often I've wondered through the years what I had done, what was wrong with me...never realizing it wasn't me, it was them!

May the week be kind to each of you!

Something we should all have learned a lot younger Alan.

I got your first message in two emails this week. Must be trying to say something to me.

Yup, often self-blame is misdirected.

Um, glad you liked that, but just wait until I get around to rewriting it from the demoness perspective. But the thing about anguish is that you only get what you allow yourself to have. I learned that lesson when I was young and involved in zen alchemy that is typically way above the understanding of a child. It may have sacrificed a lot of my youth but made me prepared for a lot of the trials I would face and am currently facing as an adult woman. Still, having an insightful saying like that partial you copied is a nice reminder to read everyday when I see it hanging on my fridge.

So true...These are the sorts of things we need to tell our grandchildren when they are ready. I know it may seem trite, but I still read Desiderata often. (It lost a bit of its impact with so many spoofs around). Still, my attempts at body surfing cause me to reflect on: "Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth."

I learn, but still keep repeating patterns. Ugh.

Guess I'm not really learning then, huh?
